A whole team of specialists is working to create a high-quality fur product: a designer, a technologist, a fur purchasing specialist, and sewing shop workers. The main task for the team of professionals is to satisfy the capricious preferences of customers, as well as to create models that will correspond to the fashion of the coming season. Let's see what a difficult path a fur coat goes through before being sold in a salon.
Step one. Purchase of fur raw materials and its selection.
Work on the production of fur coats begins with the search and purchase of high-quality raw materials. Nowadays, the assortment is quite large, which allows manufacturers to buy high quality fur and the desired shade in the required quantity. Numerous auctions and enterprises provide the opportunity to purchase raw materials at an affordable price and with a guarantee of quality. Almost all enterprises have their own supply contacts, which guarantee the supply of fur stocks, regardless of the planned volumes of products.
To begin with, the manufacturing company sends an experienced technologist to the supplier’s warehouse, who at first glance determines the quality of the raw materials, as well as the level of fur processing. The specialist carefully examines the skins and evaluates their quality. If the fur satisfies the parameters set by the company, an order is placed for the supply of the required amount of raw materials, with the provision of a special package of documentation.
Step two. Design development.
As soon as the raw materials arrive to the manufacturer, designers begin to develop patterns for future fur masterpieces. Nowadays, many enterprises refuse to work according to classic standard patterns. Therefore, when developing models, designers take into account fashion trends, the characteristics of women’s figures, and, of course, the tastes of modern customers.
Nowadays, fur products are increasingly produced in collections. In them, models are united by a common idea (usually style or color). For customers, such collections become a unique opportunity to buy a stylish and high-quality fur product at an affordable price. The collection is complemented by stylish fur accessories, which free the happy owners of fur coats from the need to select a set to match the purchased fur coat.
Step three. Cutting and sewing.
As soon as the design of future models is developed, specialists from the cutting workshop begin preparing the parts. From all purchased raw materials, specialists select skins in the quantity necessary to sew one product. Professionals evaluate skins in terms of compliance with prepared patterns. In the finished product, the fur should face one direction, and all parts should match each other.
Next, a set of skins for one fur coat is sewn into a single fabric, which looks like an unfolded fur coat. The fur fabric is placed on a special cutting table and firmly secured. Then an experienced specialist gets to work: he trims off the excess fur to form a specific style, sews on the lining, sleeves and collar.
Step four. Fur coat cleaning and pre-sale preparation.
Now it’s time for the final processing of the fur coat, because the sewing has already been completed. This simple procedure completely cleans the fur coat of remnants of pieces of fur, eliminates contamination arising during sewing and finishing, and also gives the fur product a fresh and neat look. For cleaning, special devices are used that look like drums. Sawdust is placed in them, which can absorb dirt and grease. Thus, special sawdust perfectly cleans and refreshes the fur. This procedure also softens the seams and gives the fur coat the desired shape. All that remains is to add decorative details and sew on fittings. The finished fur coat is sent to the quality control committee (to check the quality of tailoring and processing of the fur product), after which the product is sent for sale.
